About the project

Although female representation on IT and business courses has generally increased, it is still a common European challenge that socially disadvantaged young women who have not experienced success in education show low participation and retention rates for these subjects. This leads to barriers: Reduced participation in wider society, reduced access to information, reduced chances in an increasingly demanding labour market.

Focusing on socially disadvantaged, low-level educated women, the aim is to lessen the resistance in terms of female participation in society plus making access to information and access to the all important labour market easier and less daunting.

Our mission

We want to offer interest-focused materials for adult education providers dealing with otherwise „education-resistant“ groups, i.e. young female learners who have had frustrating, de-motivating experiences at school and/or with conventional training delivery.

We want to offer new opportunities to support innovativeness, creativity and increase confidence and independence in learning in an enjoyable and proficient way.

We want to make learning more attractive to girls who are reluctant to participate in conventional education, and to increase motivation among women who have not achieved success in education to participate in (lifelong) learning.

Outputs

The En Vogue teachers, trainers and counsellors will use the products- which have been designed to combine traditional teaching products with fashion orientated learning - to allow female learners to embrace their creative flow and match this with their aim to be successful on the labour market.

The En Vogue Handbook and the En Vogue Toolbox are the main tool used to support the teaching of the information necessary to empower young female learners in the labour market.

Both of these products incorporate aspects related to the world of fashion which enable teachers and trainers to support their learners in a new unconventional learning style.
